We all call peer pressure a certain way living, but it has been forced on us, the dressing, walking socializing and even thinking because that’s
how every one else you know behave, dress, talk, think.

Peer pressure will happen generally when people mingle with their own age groups. All of us want to gain and get more respect & apologies from friends, young people can be often blunt and insensitive in their dealings with others. They are keen to notice the change in dress, hairstyle, habit. So inturn they are forced to have the same under the name fashion . It can be a very painful experience for us to watch our friends ( peers) humiliating us.

Peer Pressure is of two types

  • Positive Pressure
  • Negative Pressure

The main difference between positive and negative peer pressure is the outcome.

Teenagers want to be with people of their own ages. During the teen years, the teenagers spend more time with their friends without parental supervision.

Teenagers who feel isolated , dejected by their friends and families are more likely engage themselves in risky behaviours in order to fit into a group. Such is the case when this pressure leads to drawback of teenagers from their family, positive influences , luring them into dangerous activities. A powerful negative peer pressure can motivate a teenager to make choices and engage in behaviour that might risk their moral values.

To encounter peer pressure effectively is take precaution of selecting your friends.They should be well behaved with clean habits and good character. They have the courage to tell people to mind their own business if and when they begin to interfere with your life. Most importantly one must remember that he is an individual and unique one. Live in your own way. Take the guidelines of the friend but never depend on their views.
